DEMETRI MARTIN/Stand Up Comedian: Has Emo Phillips been gone long enough that if I said Martin is like Phillips on speed, no one would know what I'm talking about, unless they are a real comedy nerd? Come on, I mean, look at the hippie lite cover and think about the whole visual simile. With an undeniable contemporary comedy pedigree backing up his resume, Martin as paid his dues in public and is now a very funny fellow in his own spotlight. Chock full of scathing one liners and observations, this kid is rising to the top of the class of contemporary comics with original voices. Certainly fun stuff throughout.
