JACO/Dose: Here's a nice bit of recidivist 90s indie pop nostalgia. With the right amount of mix mastering and genre blending, this shiny set takes you back to the future in nice style. He got he chops, well honed in a bunch of other crews to exercise his multi instrumentalist chops and go the distance. Fun stuff.
(Cornelius Chapel 52)

LONNIE PARK & the Earth Band/My Earth Songs: It was seen by 25 million viewers but in case you missed it, this world wide version of this year's take on "We Are the World" is coming home for the kids to get the message. Powered by a world wide crew of Grammy winners, they all step up to the mic with a message of kumbiya that's anything but old school preachy. A good lesson for the kids (actually of all ages), this world beat set is on the money throughout and actually offers hope for the future.
(Universal UK)

BEN ROSENBLUM NEBULA PROJECT/Kites and Strings: A young hydra that's a fount of talent that can't be contained, Rosenblum takes on his third set with a third persona and uses it to kick ass throughout. A witty, skillful composer, the multi instrumentalist leads his first full band outing in fine form with playing and writing that are second to none. A young jazzbo that's sure to be an overnight sensation a few years from now from years of intense work in the trenches, the newbies will think he's a phenom that arrived fully formed, but we'll wink and nudge and be several records up on them. Killer stuff.
(One Trick Dog)

HAZAR/Reincarnated: Some records make you say ‘yow' and some take you all the way to ‘yowzah!" If it bugs you that the guys in Trio got old and aren't making anything new, fear not. Hazar is such a sure fingered, confident guitarist that he even invited Al DiMeola to play with him on this set. McLaughlin move over. One of the most killer acoustic guitar records you are going to come across, he even tackles some Trio repertoire (with DiMeola in tow) and delivers the last word on the subject. It doesn't get any better than this. He's so sure of himself that he's released this in a double disc format packing in almost every super audio format you can think of to make sure you don't miss a note.
